taking care of (art) business

I just love how happy people are when they have purchased a painting! I met some really lovely folks at the opening of my exhibition last friday on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. Buyers or browsers all such interested and interesting individuals. I hope to get photos of the exhibition to post soon but meanwhile, back in France I have just delivered a commission to some Danish clients who intend taking 'The View from Here' home to Denmark to remind them of their holidays in the south of France.
John Dyer an artist friend who is living down here for a year (though busy in the UK at the moment as the Tall Ships artist in residence in Falmouth, Cornwall) once said that in order to not feel sad when parting with a sold painting he liked to think of the collector 'just taking care of it' for him.
Works for me!
Nice to think of my work being taken care of in Copenhagen, Monaco, San Francisco, London, Edinburgh, Nice, Hamburg and Chicago... not to mention lesser known locations (anyone heard of Auchtermuchty, Biot or Sospel!?) Note to self: don't stop until you have a painting in every continent...
